The mind opener
The image has been realized for the communication of Humus Park, an international land art meeting. (Land Art is a contemporary art movement that uses natural elements such as rocks, branches, plants, leaves, etc.)
The protagonist of the event – and of the communication – is the developing relationship between Man and Nature.
The chosen visual is a woman’s head represented in profile, from whose back a PLANT – with branches and leaves – spring up, by surprise. The plant is a symbol for the whole Nature.
The vital tendency of the branches “pushes” upwards, creating the illusion of movement. The plant looks like it is coming to life: we are witnessing the wonderful peeping out of branches and leaves from the back of the female head. No wonder, the head is brown, the earth color: it is the earth (= land) the real link between Man and Plant.
The tension of the plant branches is upward, as if to say “Nature elevates us, lifts us up.”
The head is monochromatic and represent the place of thoughts, of intelligence, of the human mind.
Only the photo of the natural element, the Plant, is deliberately colored in a bright green. The meaning is: the nature is able to illuminate, to color, to light with energy even most gray person, or even the most darkened mind.
The Plant is life. The plant gives life to the soul and to the mind. Thus gives life to man.
Moreover, this image is a synthesis of the characteristics of the typical interventions on the Nature of the artists working in Humus Park, hanging in the balance between astonished amazement and harmonious composure.
Humus Park is a biennial International Land Art meeting, held in Pordenone, conceived and developed by the two artistic directors, Vincenzo Sponga e Gabriele Meneguzzi.
It has been organized by the Municipality of Pordenone since 2008. This year it was its 4th edition. Its success is increasing edition after edition.
This year Humus Park took place in two different locations: the Pile-dwelling site of Palù di Livenza and the Park of Torre di Pordenone Castle. Thus, also the Municipality of Caneva and the Municipality of Polcenigo have been involved in the organization, as the Palù di Livenza extends between the two of them.
D&Co is an interactive advertising and communication agency settled in Pordenone. Now, it is specialized in graphic design, web marketing and digital catalogues. As it was set up in 1969, D&Co is also able to design and realize on-paper catalogues, brochures, leaflets, lists, business card etc, and all the classical advertising and promotion on-paper materials. The internal team of art directors, graphics, social media planners and strategic analysts is supported by a community of free-lances.
For the second time, D&Co has been chosen by the organizers to study all the communication strategies, to design and realize all the communication medium (from on-paper materials to Web, from social to P.R.), in two languages: Italian and English.
